The Club was formed as long ago as 1886, making it one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in the area. It will be noticed that our badge displays three Lions: this is a great privilege and is due to the fact that our first President, Lord Barry, was granted the right to add the third Lion to his Coat of Arms by Queen Victoria in recognition of his bravery in the Crimea War. The Club has been allowed to use it on their badge ever since.
Between the World Wars the Club played in the local Long Crendon & District League. In the mid-1950's a change was made to play in the Oxford Cricket Association and this remained so until 1996.
Perhaps the Club's peak was in the late 1970's when the average age of the 1st team was 22. The League was won twice and the Cup three times. More recently the Club has joined the Kookaburra Mid-Bucks League, which is already proving a worthwhile new adventure.
